Charles J. Novak, 81, of 310 Union Pl., Manitowoc, died Thursday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Duane Dionne will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Novak was born Feb. 9, 1892 at Luxemburg, son of the late Frank and Mary Dvorak Novak. He married Clara Christoff July 22, 1915 at Luxemburg, residing at Green Bay and Rockwood prior to moving to Manitowoc 50 years ago. He was a member of the City of Manitowoc Police Department for 10 years. He also owned and operated a restaurant and tavern for 10 years. He was then a liquor salesman prior to retirement. He was a member of the Seagulls and Eagles Aerie 706, of Manitowoc.

Survivors include his wife, a son, Robert of Green Bay; two daughters, Mrs. James (Arleen) Nemec of Sturgeon Bay and Mrs. Elmer (Pat) Narten of Manitowoc; two brothers, Adolph of Luxemburg and Edward of Manitowoc; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Hodek of Antigo, Mrs. Tony Stika of Algoma and Mrs. Helen Doucha of Manitowoc; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Pearl Glasow, preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 o’clock this Friday evening where an Eagles memorial service will be held at 7:30 o’clock and wake service at 8 o’clock.
