ELWOOD,KANSAS Wayne H. Krause Sr., 84, of Elwood, Kansas died Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at his home.
Wayne was born on June 2, 1931 in Council Grove, Kansas to Lee & Menga (Blankley) Krause.
He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War & was a member of the American Legion Post #161 of Wathena, Kansas. Wayne worked as a machinist, mechanic & welder, also working for Boots Hoffman’s garage for 15 years. Then opening his own shop at his home, retiring in 2012.
Wayne married Willette Pio on March 9, 1951 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on January 27, 2004. He was also preceded by his parents, daughter, Pamela Smith & a son, Wayne Krause Jr.
Survivors include, daughter, Jackie Russell of Elwood, Kansas Son, Melvin Krause of Hiawatha, Kansas 10 grandchildren & 22 great-grandchildren
Funeral: 1:00 P.M. Sunday, November 29, 2015 At: Harman Rohde Funeral Home in Wathena, Kansas Visitation; family will receive friends 2 hours prior to funeral (11-1 Sunday) at the funeral home where friends may call after 12 noon Saturday. Burial; Bellemont Cemetery where military honors will be under the auspices of the Wathena Legion Post #161.
