Abner Forbes, Esq. was the son of Gen. Abner Forbes and Sarah Spooner Forbes. He was a prominent citizen of Windsor, serving as Town Clerk 1862- 1863, was Secretary of the Robbins and Lawrence Manufacturing Co.; and Superintendent of the Windsor Gas Light Company. He moved to St. Albans, VT in 1864 when he became successively Paymasther Cashier and Chief Auditor of the Vermont Central Railroad. He married Catherine Tucker Campbell December 1, 1844 in Windsor. She was the youngest daughter of Hon. Edward Raymond and Anna Maria (Cutler) Campbell.
