Glen Dana Crandall, 79, of Asheville, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014 at the J. F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville.

Born August 19, 1935 in Franklin, IN, Glen was the son of the late Raymond Henry Crandall and Charlotte Pearl (Jones) Crandall. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Altha Joyce (White) Crandall.

Mr. Crandall retired from Andy Oxy, and was a member of Mount Pisgah Academy Seventh Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed bowling in a senior league, hiking, and was a Leader of Pathfinders, and was a Sabbath school teacher.

Survivors include his sons, Dennis Crandall of Dawsonville, GA, Andrew Crandall of Hendersonville, NC, and Tim Crandall of Candler, NC; daughters, Glenda Gragg of Asheville, Yvonne Talbot of Vancouver, WA, Tammy Crandall of Leicester, NC, and Dawn Manuel of Mount Carmel, IL; a brother, Dale Crandall of Nashville, IN; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Mount Pisgah Academy Seventh Day Adventist Church in Candler. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM prior.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to an Alzheimer’s or Cancer charity of your choice.
