Zola Anderson


The funeral for Zola K. Anderson, 81, of Fremont will be 1:30 p.m.
Saturday at Elim Lutheran Church in Swaburg.

She died Monday, Sept. 1, 2003, at her residence.

Zola Uehling was born Dec. 5, 1921, in Uehling. She grew up on a
farm near Uehling and later lived in Uehling and was a graduate of
Uehling High School. She taught high school in Tilden and then
enlisted in the Waves and served during World War II from March 3,
1943, to Nov. 9, 1945. She graduated from the University of Chicago
with a masters degree. She married Charles T. Anderson on March 20,
1948, in Chicago. After her marriage, she returned to the Uehling
area, where the couple farmed. She was an assessment psychologist at
the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. She moved to Fremont
in 1992. Her spouse preceded her in death Aug. 12, 2002.

She was a member of Elim Lutheran Church in Swaburg and a member of
Flat Water Waves, a Waves alumnus association. She was a volunteer
with CASA in Fremont.

Survivors include: a daughter, Adele Anderson (Mrs. Jon Meccarello)
of Canandaigua, N.Y.; a sister, Irma (Mrs. Carl) Moberg of Fremont;
and a grandson.

The Rev. Robert Larson will officiate Saturday's service. Visitation
will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont
with the family receiving friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Visitation will
continue one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will
be in Elim Lutheran Cemetery in Swaburg.

Memorials have been established to Elim Lutheran Church and the
Uehling Park Project.
