While researching my family line, I found this record for Harmon Cotton.

William Jarrett was a physician. So, it is presumed that Mr. Cotton sought out Dr. Jarrett's medical assistance and died at the Dr. Jarrett's home from his affliction. Medical affliction is unknown.

"22 Issue. Ordered by the court that Wm. Jarrett be allowed the sum of Ten dollars as burial ___ of one Harmon Cotton, who died at the house of said Wm. Jarrett as per a/s. Field in this office." Probate Court Arkansas Probate Records, 1817-1979, Randolph County Court records 1836-1861, page 167, January 22, 1845.

"County Court of Randolph County, Jany 21st, 1845. Ordered by the court that Thos. O. Maro, Clerk of the Court be required to keep Two Pocket books with their contents being a lot of counterful money and one silver watch in his possession until until otherwise disposed of by the court, the above articles together with an inventory of the sign were depositor in the office Col. Wm. Jarrett as the property of one Harmen Cotton, who died at the house of said Wm. Jarrett." Page 169
