In her early years she worked at various jobs and later managed the Beverly Dress Shop in Marietta. She graduated from Lowell High School in 1938. She was a member of the Beverly United Methodist Church and the Methodist Women’s Club, Order of Eastern Star, and the American Legion Auxiliary in Beverly. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking Sunday dinner for them. She enjoyed crocheting, dancing and playing cards and helping her neighbors when they needed help.
She was married January 21, 1955 to Rupert L. Ullman, who died June 6, 2001.
She is survived by a son, Jim Ullman and his wife Cheryl of Beverly; two grandsons, Brett Ullman and his wife Ashley of Beverly and Brice Ullman and his wife Lauren of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two great grandchildren, Elsie Katherine and Eleanor Ruth Ullman; a sister, Laverne Decker; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; six sisters, Neota Miller Reed, Alta Loar, Muriel Brooks Gessel, Alma Vaugh, Lola Drake and Dorothy Wagner; and an infant brother.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Beverly United Methodist Church in Beverly, with Pastor Matthew Weaver officiating. Friend may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Wednesday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly. Burial will be in the Beverly Cemetery.
