Doug honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was wounded while serving in Vietnam.
For 27 years, he worked for ANCO Sign Company based in North Carolina. He traveled across the country building and installing signs.
He is survived by his wife Gwendolyn Madderra, his children Scott Madderra and Genna McCoy, 3 sisters, Pat Mungle, Brenda Puchbauer (Dave) and Robin Payson (Andre), 3 brothers, Robert E. Koeppel II (Millie), Alan Koeppel and Eddie Koeppel (Sue), numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
