"Shirley A. (Baumler) Buckley passed away Saturday, September 26, 1987 at St. Mary's Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Age 61 years. Shirley Baumler was born January 2, 1926, in Saginaw where she resided all of her life. She married James S. buckley on June 1, 1976, in Saginaw. He survives her. Shirley was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Survivng besides her husband, are one daughter and two sons and their spouses, Sherry and Robert Story, Kalkaska; Arthur and Judy Dietrich; Theodore and Judy Dietrich, all of Saginaw; one stepdaughter and two stepsons and their spouses, Patricia and Gary Hill, Birch Run; Michael and Dianne Buckley, Saginaw; and James Buckley, Mackinaw Island; six grandchildren; and their step-grandchildren. Also, surviving are one brother, Elmer Baumler, Saginaw; and one sister, Dorothea Hutton, Fountaintown, IN. One brother, Marvin Baumler predeceased her.
Funeral service will take place 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State), and 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Rev. Camillus Janas, O.F.M., will officiate, with burial in St. Andrew's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7:00 p.m. Sunday where the family will be present from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday and on Monday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may make memorials to Muscular Dystrophy Assoc. (MDA) or Saginaw Hospice."
