CHAN JONES, SR. PASSES; RITES WEDNESDAY AT 2
F. Chan Jones, Sr., 74, father of Mrs. Murl Hagood, of Marietta, died early Tuesday morning at Kennestone Hospital after a brief illness. Rites will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Ward Funeral Home Chapel. the Rev. Griffin Henderson, the Rev. Joseph T. Walker, and the Rev. Paul Turner will officiate. Burial will be in the City Cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted. A native of Albany, Jones lived there most of his life. He has resided in Marietta since 1953. Mr. and Mrs. Jones lived at 114 Hazel Street. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Albany. Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Mary Dean Towers; two daughters, Mrs. Murl Hagood, Marietta; Mrs. G. H. Achenbach, Vidalia; one son, F. Chan Jones, Jr., Miami, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Tom Fleming, Albany; and 13 grandchildren.
