Carol married first to Robbie Carnell Story on 2 December 1961 in So. Gate, California; second to Ernesto V. Franco on 7 August 1971 in Santa Barbara, California.

STORY UNTOLD:
It was August the 8th 1959. It was early afternoon that day when I hitched a ride over to LaRois’ house in South Gate. I had met LaRois – friends called him Lee - back in the summer of ’55 when my family moved in across the street from his family. It was also the year I started Jr. High. Lee and I would become the best of friends over the next several years. The summer of 1957 rolled around and we moved from South Gate to Norwalk. That was the year I started high school. I didn’t get to see much of Lee after that.
Somehow I made it over to his house that sunny day in ’59. He said that a girl he knew was having a garage party that evening, and asked if I would like to go with him. Of course I’d like to go with him! All I had to do was call Mom and get permission to spend the night. Lee was a year older than I, and had recently got his drivers license. So with a little help from the family car we made it to the party that evening.
The inside of the garage was lowly lit with different colored lights. Twisted crape paper streamers hung from the rafters. The record ‘Your Tender Lips' by The Clovers was spinning on a portable record player in the corner. I saw her through the dancing crowd as soon as Lee and I walked in. Our eyes met, and seem to lock together, as she broke off her conversation and made her way over. Biggest prettiest eyes I’d ever seen. Lee introduced me to Carol, adding that she was the one hosting the party. Oh God! How did all those butterflies get in my stomach? The portable dropped the next record, and ‘Tonite, Tonite' by The Mello-Kings started playing. I don’t think I asked her to dance. It seems we just took each other's hand and started dancing. ‘Tonite, Tonite' and 'Your Tender Lips' would become our songs. I was walking on cloud nine, and that dreamy warm summer night ended way to soon.
The garage parties continued, and I continued going. At least twice a month, or more, one of the garage partygoers would have a party at their place. I introduced several people that I went to high school with to the parties, and they would have parties also.
By the time that unforgettable summer of ’59 ended, everyone would know that Carol and I was in love, and inseparable. Years later Lee and I would reminisce about the old garage party days. Lee would invariably add, “yeah, all the guys was in love with Carol, but you were the lucky one”. I was station in Germany by August of '62. Her letters were always signed with, "Forever & Always".

TONIGHT, TONIGHT
Tonight tonight, while I'm holding you so near
Tonight tonight, what I'd give if I could hear
Those three little words, that would thrill the heart of me
Just whisper I love you, and will eternally

Tonight tonight, more than any time before
This heart of mine, seems to need you so much more
The touch of your lips, the thrill of your embrace
Keeps saying that no one will, ever take your place

While looking up above, I wished upon a star
And prayed for a blessing from above
Well if my wish should come true, until our life is through
I'll have you near, to have to hold and to love

Well tonight tonight, may never reach an end
I'll miss you so, 'til you're in my arms again
With all of my heart, I declare with all my mind
I'll love you forever, as I love you tonight

Tonight tonight, may never reach an end
I'll miss you so, 'til you're in my arms again
With all of my heart, I declare with all my mind
I'll love you forever, as I love you tonight

YOUR TENDER LIPS
Your tender lips, drive me insane
Intoxicate me, set me aflame
Your tender lips, tell me you love me
All of my waiting, was not in vain

When we kiss my heart begins to pound and pound
Then my head begins to spin round and round
Suddenly I know that all I need is one more kiss
A kiss, a kiss, a kiss, a kiss

From your tender lips, can’t do without them
Only one kiss, sweet kiss, from you tender lips

When we kiss my heart begins to pound and pound
Then my head begins to spin round and round
Suddenly I know, that all I need is one more kiss
A kiss, a kiss, a kiss, a kiss

From your tender lips, can’t do without them
Only one kiss, sweet kiss, from you tender lips

Your tender lips . . . Your tender lips
