Born March 13, 1945, in Folsom, W.Va., he was a son of the late Hershell F. and Audra B. Powell Edgell.
He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Columbiana and had worked at Fresh Mark, Salem.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Rakes Edgell; two daughters, Lynn White of Glenmoor and Tammy Luketic of Lisbon; three sons, Brian Edgell of Calcutta, Bill Edgell of Lisbon and Brad Edgell of Chester; a stepdaughter, Patti Rabquer of Louisville, Ky.; five sisters, Judy Burkel of St. Marys, W.Va., Patsy Trader of Fairmont, W.Va., Connie Higgins of Reader, W.Va., and Camela Smith and Jeannie Mays, both of East Liverpool; two brothers, Ora Edgell of Fairmont and Larry Edgell of Norfolk, Va.; and 13 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
