Funeral services for Charles Sanders, who died July 25 at Des Moines V.A. Hospital, were held July 28 from William Funeral home with interment in Dunreath cemetery. Elder Arthur Nichols officiated.
Casket bearers were Leo Cowman, Jack Kingery, Gerard Martinache, Earl Martinache, Bill Sanders and Richard Sanders. Mrs. Owen Elliott, organist, accompanied Mrs. Wanda Detrick and Mrs. Violet Neff.
Charles Edward, son of Alvis and Martha Sanders, was born Feb. 10, 1895 in Marion County and spent his life here with the exception of 20 years in Des Moines. He was a WWI veteran. His parents and eleven brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Surviving are two brothers, George of Oregon and William of California, four sisters, Mrs. Nettie Cowman of Knoxville, Mrs. Margie Habelitz, Des Moines and Mrs. Beulah Clark and Mrs. Dorothy Scott of California.
