Dillard Lee Buchanan, age 97, was born November 28, 1918 in Spencerville, OK, the son of Robert Lee Buchanan and Nellie May (Harris) Buchanan and had lived most of his life in Spencerville.
He married Johnnie Roan on May 11, 1943 in Spencerville, OK. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Della "Dottie" Allen, Oleta Adams, Aldred "Igie" Young, Elbert Loyl'dean "Wine" Buchanan, Robert Lee "Bob" Buchanan and Lucretia "Tee"Noel
Dillard was a carpenter and farmer/rancher. He rode and raised horses, had a large garden and was always working. Dillard drove his truck until the age of 94. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the U.S. Army.
SURVIVORS INCLUDE: two sons: Dan Buchanan and wife, Norma of Virginia Beach, VA and Mike Buchanan of Spencerville, OK; three sisters, Charlene "Chine" Monroe of Shawnee, OK, Barbara Yvonne "Cootsie" Hall of Burlingame, CA and Zelma Schofield of Campbell, CA; grandchildren: Reid Buchanan and Dan Buchanan, Jr. along with many other relatives and friends.
