She was born on Feb. 10, 1929, in Carlsbad, NM and died in Boerne, TX, where she had lived for the past 32 years. She was eighty-five years of age.
Even though Edith grew up on a ranch in West Texas, she went on to become a noted Interior Designer. She worked at Fingers in Houston and had her own design business in Houston. Then, Louis Shanks recruited her talents for their business in Austin and she was one of their designers who opened the Louis Shanks in San Antonio, where she retired. She had designed houses all over the country and even went to Italy to purchase art & furniture for her business. She loved her family, flowers & gardening, music & dancing, cooking, reading & politics. She was independent & worked hard every day of her life. She had a great gift of gab and never met a stranger. Edith was a beautiful woman, both inside & out, and she always had an amazing sparkle in her beautiful blue eyes.
Edith is survived by her daughter, son-in-law, three grandsons, three grandsons, five great-grandchildren and her precious great-great-granddaughter.
A Celebration of Edith's Life will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Boerne, TX. Arrangements are with Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home of Boerne.
