Born in Prentiss, Mississippi to parents, Edward and Emma Broome, Hazel attended Pearl River Junior College and then Draughon's Business College receiving a Business degree, then worked for the MS State Board of Health for many years.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Martha Henderson (Phillip) Huggins; her husbands, Thomas Parker Henderson and L.O. Barlow; her sisters, Marylee (Kyle) Parkman and Lou (John) Goodin; and brothers, BL (Lucille) Broome, John (Frances) Broome, Garland Broome and James Russell Broome.
She is survived by her sisters, Emily (JD) McAdory of Jackson and Dorothy (Floyd) Ashcraft of Kosciusko; her son, Dr. Thomas G. (Donna) Henderson of Mobile, AL, grandchildren, Anne Morgan (James) Montgomery of Birmingham, AL, Dr. Andrew T. Henderson of Augusta, GA, Dr. Bryan (Emily) Huggins of Corinth, and Kimberly (Stephen) Jessop of Germantown, TN, in addition to five great grandchildren and many wonderful and thoughtful nieces and nephews.
Ms. Barlow will be buried at the family site at Antioch Cemetery in Prentiss, MS on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 11:00 am, with visitation from 9:00 - 10:30 at Salters Moore Funeral Home in Prentiss. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Melanoma Research Foundation, P.O. Box 759329, Baltimore, MD 21275-9329.
