Sabino B. Andry - A native of Chastang, AL and a lifelong resident of Mobile County, died April 21, 2008 at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Martha, and his brothers, Augusta and Francis. Mr. Andry was a decorated Veteran of the Korean War and recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. As a local businessman specializing in foundation construction, he was much sought after for his reliability, craftsmanship and attention to detail. He was active in community and religious organizations and held a number of leadership positions including Charter Member and Grand Knight for the Knights of St. Peter Claver, Council 172 and president of the Midnight Mystics Margi Gras Association. He was tireless in his devotion to his family, St. James Major Catholic Church and its youth organizations. He was an extraordinary husband, father, brother and beloved mentor to many. He is survived by a loving wife, Marietta Likely Andry, his children, Michael (Beverly Guillory) Andry, Sabrina (Ken) Simon, Cassandra (Anthony) Joseph, Conrad (Monica Jones), Karen Andry, Seventeen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Sr. M. M. De Pazzi. (Sisters of the Holy Family), brothers, Robert Curtis (Mae), Milton (Jessie Mae), Harold (Mary) and their children. Services will be held Saturday, April 26 at St. James Major Catholic Church, 714 College Street, Prichard, AL. Visitation 9AM, Funeral Mass 11AM., with interment at St. Peter the Apostle Cemetery, Chastang, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. James Major Catholic Church Scholarship Foundation, 714 College St. Prichard, AL 36610 or The Sisters of the Holy Family, 6901 Chef Menteur Highway, New Orleans, LA 70126.
