Alfreida Lylian Kuehl, 97, of St. Charles died Sunday, December 13th at St. Isodore Health Center in Plainview.

Alfreida was born March 17, 1918 in Black Creek, WI to Frank and Jennie (Huff) Kuehl. She attended schools in Black Creek and Tomah, WI, graduating from high school in Flandreau, SD.

Alfreida and Lester Bishop were married September 11, 1937 in Cresco, IA.

They lived in Rochester, Milwaukee, WI, St. Charles, before retiring to Loretta, WI. In 2001 they returned to St. Charles. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1987.

Alfreida was a homemaker, but worked part-time at Allis Chalmers in Milwaukee, Whitewater State Park, Olmsted Medical Group and United Way. She was a member of St. Charles United Methodist Church.

She loved reading, fishing, and music of the big band era. Alfreida was an avid Packer fan and was proud of her Oneida Nation heritage. Her greatest love was for her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lester, a son James, one brother Harvey, two sisters, Eva and Margaret and a grandson Jeff.

Funeral services will be 11AM Saturday at St. Charles United Methodist Church with the Reverend Heather E. Klason officiating. Burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester.
