Tyler married Sarah FALES on 18 Mar 1818 in Sharon VT. Whoever supplied the information to George Burbank Sedgley for the 1928 Genealogy of the Burbank Family led him to think that Tyler "went West and married there...probably not far from 1840," but the VT vital records and censuses disprove that, unless he went without his wife. He has no grave marker in the cemetery with his wife, however. What the circumstances were or where he is buried is unknown. Tyler does appears on the 1820 census in Sharon and on the 1830 and 1840 enumerations he is with his family in the neighboring town of Pomfret VT. In 1850 at age 56 he was a farmer in Royalton VT enumerated with his wife, Sarah, age 50.

Known children of Tyler and Sarah:: Betsey F. (1819-1893, see #108826739), Horace (1820-1822), Orrin (1924- ), Lyman (1829- ), Helen Irene (1832-1923) who married Chester N. SMITH and Edgar Alonzo (1834- ).

Tyler Burbank is attributed to serving in Commodore Stephen Decatur's squadron during the Algerian War (Second Barbary War) in 1815 (in "History of Windsor County, Vermont" edited by Lewis Cass Aldrich, Frank R. Holmes). Another source (Fold3) has him as a Seaman with the US Navy, Com William Bainbridge in 1815, warrant number 55-160-7035.
