Mary Katherine Haschel, 91, of Winamac, IN passed away at 2:05 PM Monday, December 14, 2015 at Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac. She was born January 25, 1924, in Yale, IA to Ernest and Clara Heater Clements. Mary married John F. Haschel on May 27, 1950 in Attica, IN. John died January 9, 1996. Mary was a cosmetologist and homemaker. She owned and operated her own beauty shop in Winamac for over 40 years. Mary was a member of Winamac Church of the Nazarene, Pulaski County REACT, and the Pulaski County Underwater Recovery Unit. She was active in various political and social organizations. Mary enjoyed traveling, fishing, mushroom hunting, and snowmobiling. She also enjoyed reading and researching topics of interest so that she could advocate for people in need. She and her husband John enjoyed frequent fishing trips to Spooner, WI. Mary was a great mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family. She loved and was loved.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM EST Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac, with Harold Smith officiating. Burial will take place in McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac. Visitation will be from 3-8 PM EST Friday, December 18, 2015 at Frain Mortuary.
