Katharina and her family were from Weiler, Cochem-Zell, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. She was about 10 months old when the family left Bremen and crossed the Atlantic Ocean on the St. Bernard Ship. The ship sailed into New York Harbor, on Saturday, June 12, 1869. They settled in Salem Township, Allegan Co. Michigan where she grew up on the family homestead. She helped raise her brothers when her Mother died young. She married Frank Kunard (Konant misspelled on marr. cert) Oct 8, 1891. She had three children with Frank before he died young. She later married A I Rose on June 29, 1908. She was known by her nieces, nephews and those who knew her as a very sweet and loving person. She died at the Age 67y 10m 3d COD: Flu & Bronchitis
