Rosay for Charles E. Gifford, 26, W 613 Mansfield, who was killed instantly when the single-engine plane he was piloting crashed near Inchelium, Wash., will be said at 8:30 this evening at Hennessey's.

Funeral services will be held at 8 a.m. tomorrow in Holy Ghose and St. Anthony's Catholic church with the Rev. John G. Birk, assistant pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross.

Another Spokane and area man, Ronald M. Hanley, 30, of N 1311 Hamilton and Kettle Falls, also lost his life in the crash.

Mr. Gifford was born here July 26, 1940, and had lived here much of his life, attending St. Anthony's parochial school and Gonzaga Prep.

He had completed his first year at Spokane Community College and had just passed his air frame test. He was employed by Valley Transfer Co.

Mr. Gifford was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and the Issaquah Chapter of the parachute Club of America.

He is survived by a son, Ronnie, Seattle; his father, Peter Gifford, at the home; his mother, Mrs. Mary C. Pierson, Redding, Calif.; four brothers, Murray Anderson, Seattle, and Mike, Jim and Tom Gifford, all at the home, and four sisters, Mrs. Juanita Casper, Roseville, Calif.; and Judy, Pamela and Heather Gifford, all at the home.
