Welles in the 1908 Emporia City Directory, p. 199. George died 17 Jan 1909 and is buried in Maplewood. Myra died 28 Nov 1910, but the obituaries in the newspapers are full of errors. She was described as buried in Maplewood, however."

Mrs. Martha Willis Dead.
Mrs. Martha Willis, mother of Giles Elliott, died last night of dropsy, at 7:50, at the Elliott home, 816 Congress street. She was 76 years old and had made her home with her son for the past several years. For five years she has been a patient sufferer from dropsy, but only until recently had she been confined to her bed. Mrs. Willis was a member of the St. James Baptist church. The funeral was held from that church this afternoon at 2:30, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Gibson. Interment was made in Maplewood cemetery.

MRS. MYRA WILLIS DEAD
Mrs. Myra Willard (sic), colored, died last night of a complication of diseases, at the Elliott (sic) home, 816 Congress street. She had been troubled with heart failure and dropsy for months. Mrs. Willis was born December 27, 1831, in O'dair (sic), Ky., and her girlhood was spent there. About thirty years ago the family came to Kansas and settled in Emporia. Her husband, George Willis, died about two years ago, and since that time she had lived with the Elliots. She was a faithful member of the Baptist church, and had many friends in that organization. She leaves one son and one daughter, Giles Elliot, who is employed by the Rorabaugh Dry Goods Company, and Mrs. J. Harrison. The funeral was held this afternoon in the St. James Baptist church and was conducted by Rev. S. H. Gibson. The interment was made in Maplewood.
