Loretta Buchberger Sands

Mrs. Loretta Buchberger Sands, 72, a former Village of Cleveland resident, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 1991, at Heritage Nursing Center in Sheboygan.

She was born on August 19, 1918 in the Town of Kellnersville, Wis., the daughter of the late Leonard and Flora Jost Piehl.

On September 18, 1938, she was united in marriage to Joseph Buchberger. The couple resided in the Village of Cleveland. Mr. Buchberger passed away in 1966.

On March 11, 1972, she was again united in marriage to James Sands. The couple resided in the Village of Cleveland until 1985, when due to illness, Mrs. Sands became a resident of the Heritage Nursing Center. She was employed by Wigwam Mills in Sheboygan until she retired in 1981. She was a member of St. Wendel Catholic Church in Cleveland, and in early years was very active with the Girl Scouts as a leader.

Survivors include her husband; one son and daughter-in-law, John (Cathy) Buchberger, Cleveland; one daughter, Mary Buchberger, Sheboygan; one granddaughter, Christine Meyer, Cleveland; two sisters, Marion LaClair, Manitowoc and Florence Marz, Arizona. Preceding her in death is her husband, Joseph, one daughter, Diane; one son, Joseph Jr.; one sister, Arlene.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, July 23, at St. Wendel Catholic Church, in Cleveland. The Rev. Father Earl Brouchoud will be celebrant of the mass. Burial will be in St. George Cemetery in Cleveland. Friends may call on Tuesday morning, at the church, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.

A memorial fund is being established in Mrs. Sands' name.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Stoltenberg Funeral Chapel.
