NEKOOSA (AP) — A search
resumed early today for two -
year - old Kirk Brost, missing
from home since Saturday aft-
ernoon.
Police Chief I. G. Bey said
volunteers and Civil Defense
units from Nekoosa and Wisconsin
Rapids joined the Wood
County sheriffs department Sat-
urday night and the hunt contin-
ued until darkness Sunday.
The boy's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. William Brost, live near
the Wisconsin River, and the
stream was dragged Sunday.

Boy Drowned
NEKOOSA (AP)—A two-year-
old boy missing since Saturday
is presumed drowned, Wood
County Sheriff Thomas H. For-
syth said Monday after blood-
hounds led searchers to the
bank of the Wisconsin River.
The stream is some 200 yards
from the home of Kirk Brost,
son of Mr. and Mrs. William
Brost.
Ten boats were used Monday
in dragging operations and For-
syth said he planned to contin-
ue dragging through the week if
the body is not found.
The Portage County Sheriff's
Department is assisting in the
dragging operations with the
county rescue boat. Deputies
have been assigned to work in
shifts.
