Clifton Myron Browning (92) passed away at home December 18, 2015.

He was born July 8, 1923 in Ririe, Idaho to George Andrew and Christie Galbraith Browning.

He married Helen Harding August 17, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.

He participated in many sports including football, basketball, tennis, and boxing. He also played trumpet in the Pep and Marching Bands for St. Anthony High School.

During World War II he served aboard ship in the South Pacific with the Merchant Marines. While on leave, he drove a bus route from Salt Lake City to the Ogden Arsenal, where he met the love of his life, Helen Harding.

Following the war, Clifton worked for several trucking companies before going into business with his family. Browning Freight Lines, Inc. was founded in the late 1940's. His accomplishments in the transportation industry include: President of the Utah Motor Transport Association, Chairman of the Board of Governors of Transport Clearing's Intermountain, and President of the Equipment Interchange Association.

He loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and served faithfully in many callings such as Bishop, High Councilor, Stake Sunday School President, Stake Executive Secretary, and Counselor in the Bountiful Utah Central Stake Presidency.

He loved all of his callings, but he especially loved the two missions he served with Helen in the Canada Vancouver Mission.

He is survived by his loving wife, Helen; daughter, Carolynn (Mike) Christensen; Randy (Marty) Browning; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Browning; and Brian (Jane) Browning; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; brothers, George Jr and Lowell D.

Preceded in death by his parents; sons, Robert and Bradley; brothers, Ben and Allen.

Interment: Bountiful City Cemetery.
