Joyce Lee Bankhead passed away peacefully on December 17, 2015 in Salt Lake City surrounded by her family.

She was born July 24, 1930 and lived her whole life in Salt Lake City. She graduated from West High School in 1947.

She married Ross Bankhead on February 25, 1950 and was sealed to him and her family in the temple on February 25, 1957.

Joyce was a very special soul and brightened the lives of everyone she met. She loved to travel and took many cruises and visited almost every state, including Hawaii and Alaska, as well as Mexico, South America, and Canada. The world is a sadder place without her.

She is survived by her husband, Ross; daughter, Lyn (Dennis) Barker; daughter, Sharon Straley; son, William Bankhead; five grandchildren, and five-great-grandchildren, as well as her brother, Ronald (Betty) Lee.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2015 and Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the services at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street.
Interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South.
