Mrs. John (Rose) Karbon

Mrs. John (Rose) Karbon, 85, Denmark, died Tuesday morning at home. Born Oct. 8, 1893 in the Town of Gibson, the daughter of the late John and Catherine Weber Novy married John Karbon on Dec. 27, 1911 in the Town of Gibson.

Her husband preceded her in death, April 7, 1978.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Ethel) Thompson, Manitowoc; Mrs. Lester (Gladys) Mathis, Denmark; Mrs. Anthony (Marcella) Balzan, Newton; Mrs. Claude (Bernice) Christensen, Denmark; three sons, Harold, Two Rivers; Howard, Cooperstown; John Jr., Newton; two brothers, Joseph Novy, Melnik; Ben Novy, Manitowoc; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son and two daughters.

Friends may call at Knutson Funeral Home, Denmark, after 3 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral 2 p.m. Thursday at Melnik Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Greg Meyer officiating. Burial in church cemetery.
