BRIEF ILLNESS ENDS IN DEATH OF MRS NOVY

Mrs. Katherine Novy, widow of John Novy, died at the home of her son, James Novy, last evening at 6:30 after an illness of less than two days.
The funeral will be held Friday morning from the home with services at Melnik Presbyterian church at 10 o'clock, the Rev. Tepley officiating.
Burial will be at the adjoining cemetery.
Born Katherine Weber in Bohemia,February 28,1864, she came to this country alone at the age of thirteen and has always since resided in the town of Gibson. She was married to John Suchan who died after two children had been born to the couple and two years after his death married John Novy who also preceded her in death. Her husband was for many years prominent in musical circles of the county and as a mark of respect the band will attend the funeral and give several selections.
Mrs. Novy is survived by a son, and daughter of her first marriage,Fred Suchan of Rockwell and Mrs. John Hronek of this city and by four sons and two daughter of the second marriage, James Novy on the old homestead; Henry Novy of this city, Joseph Novy of Melnik and Benjamin of Two Rivers and by two daughters, Mrs. Walter Hilbersack of Two Rivers and Mrs. John Karbon of Rockwell. One brother, Matt Weber of this city and a sister, Mrs. Simanek of Brockville, also survive her. She was a member of the Z.C.B.J. and C.J. societies and of the St. Martha society of the Melnik church.
