Joyce A. Voigt, 90, formerly of 925 Dewey St., Kiel, died Sunday morning, December 20, 2015 at Oak Creek Assisted Living, Kiel where she resided the past 4 years. She was the former Joyce Wagner, born August 31, 1925 in Jericho, daughter of the late Albert & Alvina (Schultz) Wagner. Joyce was a Kiel High School graduate. On April 17, 1948 she married the love of her life, Edwin H. Voigt, at St. Peter United Church of Christ, Kiel. She had been employed earlier in her life as a Secretary at Kiel High School. Joyce & Eddie owned and operated Wagner's Lanes in Kiel from 1949 until 1976 when they retired. Joyce continued to work at Evan's in Kiel for 13 years, mainly doing the summer plants and went to work at K & M Piggly Wiggly, Kiel in 1984 for many years helping out in any departments she was needed. She was a member of St. Peter UCC, Kiel were she was a member of the Royal Neighbors and the Womens Guild working on many committees. Joyce was an active bowler for many years, winning numerous bowling awards throughout the years. She also was a member of the Kiel VFW Auxiliary and was a follower and supporter of the Kiel Municipal Band taking care of their uniforms. Joyce enjoyed watching her grandchildren's activities and had a passion for her gardens & knitting, donating her handiwork to worthy causes. Their cottage at Shawano Lake and later Wolf Lake was a great get-a-way for the couple. Her husband, Eddie, preceded her in death on December 14, 2004. Survivors include her children; Dr. David (Dana) Voigt, Appleton, Kay Ann (Mark) Beitzel, Kiel, grandchildren; Briana (Nate) Brendel, Brittany (Brandin) LeCapitaine, Haley Voigt, Jennifer (Jeff) Holz and Erik (Brittany) Beitzel. She is further survived by her great grandchildren; Kyla & Kinsley LeCapitaine, Ryan, Blake & Ellie Holz, Isaak & Monroe Beitzel, one brother-in-law, Roger Voigt, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by husband, Eddie, her parents, Albert & Alvina Wagner, brother, Howard (Gladys) Wagner, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sylvia (Lester) Vogel, Evelyn (Charles) Gerber, Pat Voigt and Milton (Elvira) Voigt. Funeral services for Joyce will held at 2:30 pm, Sunday, December 27, 2015 at St. Peter United Church of Christ (424 Fremont St., Kiel) with Dan Krueger, Lay Minister, officiating. Burial will take place in the Kiel City Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Sunday from 12:30 pm until 2:15 pm. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name. Joyce's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Oak Creek Assisted Living for going above and beyond and for the extraordinary care and compassion they gave to Joyce. They would also like to thank Heartland Hospice for making Joyce Comfortable in her last days.
