Annie Pearl Baker was born on July 30, 1931 in Albion, Michigan to Willie and Naomi Harris. Annie was the third oldest of six children born to this union. Annie graduated from Washington Gardner High School, Albion, Michigan and went on to attend nursing school in Battle Creek, Michigan to obtain a License Practical Nursing degree.

After returning to Albion, Annie worked as a nurse at Albion Community Hospital. She went on to earn her Registered Nursing degree by working fulltime and attending college part time. Annie held many positions, including Supervisor of the Intensive Care Unit. She went on to live in Lansing, Michigan to work several positions before taking a position with Fisher Body, Lansing Division. There she worked as a Management Placement Coordinator with her coworker Denny Cox, Union Placement Coordinator, to develop a newly formed department called Job Placement. There Annie worked until she retired, however, she did not retire as a nurse. She always said, "I am a nurse first" and that she did attending to her father, mother, children, siblings, friends and others.

For several years Annie served as a Mother on the Mother's Board at New Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist church under Bishop William Murphy, Jr., Pontiac, Michigan. She went on to live with her son, Stanford, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. There she became acquainted with Community Impact Church, Auburn Hills, Michigan under Reverend Corey James, Ph.D. via conference call. Sometime later, she became Mother of Community Impact Church until she went to her eternal home on Friday, December 4, 2015.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Davis, Alice Harris; and brother, Leslie Harris.

Annie leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Richie Harris, Rochester Hills, Michigan and her son, Stanford Baker, Mary Esther, Florida; four grandchildren, Sonya (Richard) Austin, Sterling Heights, Michigan, Brandon Harris-Warnsley, Shelby Twp., Michigan; Lela and Stanford Baker, Jr., Mary Esther, Florida; two great grandchildren, Jasmine Brown, Jackson, Michigan and Brittany Brown, Kalamazoo, Michigan. Her sister, Geraldine Lee, Flint, Michigan and brother, Allen Harris of Albion, Michigan and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

It always gave Annie joy to nurse people back to health, talk with her Pastor and watch her President, Barak Obama, on television every chance she got. Annie will be sorely missed.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, December 18, 2015 at 11:30AM at Albion Memory Gardens, 26905 B Drive South, Albion, MI 49224.
