MRS. ALICE F. ADKINS, 88, of Barboursville, widow of Frank Adkins, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 4, 2006, in St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday July 7, 2006, at Bloomingdale Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Pastor Jeff Sizemore officiating. Entombment will follow in the Abbey of Devotion, Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. She was born December 10, 1917, in Lincoln County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Elijah and Minnie Tooley Adkins. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Goldie Adkins and Verna Cremeans, and two brothers, Raymond Adkins and Roy Adkins. She retired after 35 years of service from the former Owens-Illinois, Co. as a Crew Leader. She is survived by a daughter Cheri "CJ" Wiley of West Hamlin, W.Va.; two sons, Fred Adkins of Huntington, and Jefferson D. Adkins of Cumming, Ga.; five grandchildren, including a special grandson, Randall Lee White Jr.; 16 great-grandchildren; eight sisters and a brother.
