Mrs. Scheel, nee Hildegard Schmeisser, was born May 9, 1902 in the Town of Centerville, daughter of the late Otto and Tillie Wolters Schmeisser. She attended school in Louis Corners and School Hill. She married George Scheel on June 19, 1923 in the Town of Schleswig. The couple farmed in Calumet county and also lived
in School Hill before moving to St. Nazianz where she had been residing the past 43 years before moving to the nursing home. Her husband preceded her in death in 1980. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Louis Corners.
Survivors include a brother, Herbert Schmeisser of School Hill; and two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Kroening of Scheboygan and Mrs. Myra Toltzmann of Manitowoc. She was preceded in death by three brothers.
Friends may call at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, 6 o'clock to 8 o'clock this Thursday evening and from 9 am to 11 am Friday morning and then at the church from 12 noon to the time of services. A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Scheel's name.
