Ronald A. Schneider, 76, of 2404 S. 11th St., died at home Thursday morning, Feb. 24, 2005, following a battle with colon cancer.

Ron was born April 17, 1928 in Kiel to Ferdinand and Cela (Spettel) Schneider.

He served his country in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper, stationed in Japan at the close of WII.
On June 15, 1949 Ron was united in marriage to Jeanne Steibel of Kiel. The couple resided in Kiel before moving to Sheboygan in 1954.

Ron was a welder at the Manitowoc Shipyards before becoming employed at the Kohler Co. He retired from the Kohler Co. as a security guard in 1991.

Ron and Jeanne worshiped at Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Sheboygan.

Ron enjoyed the outdoors, especially deer hunting with family and friends. He owned a four-wheeler and would explore trails in northern Wisconsin with his son, Dave. Recently in his retirement years, he enjoyed riding along with David in his semi.

In addition to his wife, Jeanne, Ron is survived by two children, David (Regina) Schneider of Hilbert and Susan Schneider of Sheboygan five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and other family members. He is further survived by his two pet dogs and "Buddies", Molly and Rambo.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Elmer (Edna) Schneider.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 7 p.m. at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. The Rev. Herman Haas, of Blessed Hope Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial will take place in Union Cemetery, Town of Schleswig, Manitowoc County. A time of visitation and support will be held at Ballhorn Chapels on Monday from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.

The family extends their thanks to caregivers with V.N.A. Hospice.

Ron was residing with his granddaughter, Christine, who dedicated herself to care and comfort Ron during the last months of his life.
