Mr. Lynn L. Althouse, 88, passed away October 30, 2011 at 11:00 pm in The Reading Hospital for Post Acute Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Grace M. (Weidner) Althouse. Born in Temple, he was the son of the late J. Brooke and Esther (Loose) Althouse. Mr. Althouse was a supervisor for the former Beryllium Corp. in Temple for 25 years retiring in 1966. He was the owner of Stout Machine Products Co. in Reading from 1968-1977 and worked as a machining engineer for Westinghouse Electric Steam Turbine Division in Philadelphia from 1978-1983. He also worked as a maintenance supervisor at Eastern Foundry in Boyertown from 1984-1989. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a former member of Calvary UCC in Reading. In addition to his wife Mr. Althouse is survived by his children Richard L. husband of Linda M. Althouse of Sinking Spring; Carol L. wife of James Pesek of Avondale, PA; Jeffrey L. husband of Debra Althouse of Pottsville; Timothy W. husband of Karen Althouse of Clarksville, Maryland along with 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Ralph C. Althouse of Carbondale, PA and his sister Florence Ammarell of Palm City, Florida.

Memorial Service will be held in Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 4:00 pm. Rev. Dr. Stephen Ohnsman officiating.
