Mrs. Lawhon was born August 20, 1935 in Mariana, Arkansas to parents John Wade and Eleanor Summerford. Her faith was in the Lord Jesus from an early age, and she strived to live the rest of her life guided by Christian principles. She resided in Henderson, Texas for 25 years before moving to Tyler, Texas. Mrs. Lawhon enjoyed dressing many East Texas children at The Peppermint Fence, a children’s clothing store. She loved to sing in the church choir, as well as a ladies ensemble and participated in several mission trips with her beloved husband, Emmett.
