Mrs. W.J. Allen, 83 Buried Thursday In Cumberland County
Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Shelley Allen, 83, were held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home with interment in Centenary Methodist Church cemetery. She died Monday in Norfolk.
Mrs. Allen was born August 3, 1877, in Sevier County, Tennessee, a daugther of the late Mary Jane Murphy Shelley and John A. Shelley. She was the widow of William J. {Joseph}, Allen and was a member of Centenary Methodist Church in Cumberland County.
She is survived by four daugthers, Mrs. William A. Franklin {Estelle Julia}, Mrs. F. J. Casey { Mary Sweat}, both of Norfolk, Mrs. Ralph Boatman {Minnie Charity Hale}, of Knoxville, and Mes, Ethel Wagner, of Richmond, three sons, John Allen, of Knoxvlile, Earl and Carl Allen, of Farmville; one sister, Mrs Rachel Shelley, of Seymour, Tennessee, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
