Her husband of 60 years Clyde Werner Aswell, Sr., and her daughter Edith Anne Aswell Klos preceded her in death. A proud graduate of Louisiana Tech University, she was an educator and pastor’s wife. Mary helped her husband shepherd churches for over 40 years, but her greatest joy and achievement was in making her home a place of love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary will be greatly missed by her children, Rebekah and Butch Oaks, and Werner and Julie Aswell, all of Calhoun. She loved spoiling her grandchildren – Tonya and Keith, Emerson and Lydia, Emily and Jeffrey, Kristen and Landon, Taylor, and Kari, and her great-grandchildren, Marley and Emori. They will miss her macaroni and cheese, singing and storytelling. She also leaves behind former students and friends too numerous to list
