Born in Wellsville March 8, 1924, son of the late Howard and Olive Gorby Cecil, he attended Friendship Gospel Tabernacle.
A lifelong resident of the area, he retired from the former Crucible Steel Mill in 1975.
A sister, Betty Olmstead of Glenmoor, survives.
In addition, there are three nieces, Olive "Ollie" Davis, Jennie Davis and Cathy Shasteen, all of Glenmoor, along with three nephews, Kenneth Olmstead of Glenmoor, Randy Richards of East Liverpool and Howard Richards of Florida. Several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Richards. and a brother, Floyd Cecil.
Friends may call Tuesday at the Dawson Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
The Rev. Charles Taylor will conduct services at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery.
