Carl P. Holzer, age 80, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away Friday (Dec. 25, 2015) at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice in Sheboygan Falls, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on October 3, 1935 in Sheboygan; a son of the late Carl and Rose (Brock) Holzer
He attended Trinity Lutheran Elementary School and North High School, both in Sheboygan.
Carl honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1960 on the USS Power in Newport, Rhode Island.
On November 9, 1957 Carl married Janet Mahloch at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, WI. Carl and Janet celebrated their 58th Wedding Anniversary November 9, 2015 with friends and family.
Carl was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth.
He was employed for 42 years at the Kohler Company and belonged to their Quarter-Century Club.
He was a member of the Johnsonville Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years. During that time he received the Ben Franklin Citation of Merit for saving the life of a woman while fishing.
Carl truly cherished the times he spent with family; especially story-telling, fishing and hunting with his grandchildren.
He also enjoyed trap shooting with the Kohler and Johnsonville Rod & Gun Clubs; fishing, gardening, and traveling.
Survivors include his wife: Janet of Sheboygan Falls; One son: Carl Mark (Lori) Holzer of Plymouth; One daughter: Tracy (Eric) Jensen of Manitowoc; Five grandchildren; Six great-grandchildren; One brother: Kenneth (Joyce) Holzer of Sheboygan; One sister: Lois Nimmer of Kiel.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lillian Steinhaus.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday (December 29) at 6:00 P.M. at Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. Thomas Burton, of St. John Lutheran Church of Plymouth will officiate. Burial will be in the Garden of Valor at Greenlawn Memorial Park in the Town of Sheboygan.
Visitation will take place at Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth on Tuesday (Dec. 29) from 4:00 the time of services.
The Plymouth VFW World Cheese Center Post #5612 will conduct military rites immediately following the services.
