Alma Mae Howlett

Mrs. Alma Mae Howlett, 79 of Sprague, died Friday April 7, at her home following a long illness.

Born Nov. 17, 1909 at Odd, she was the daughter of the late Frances Hornsby.

Mrs Howlett was a homemaker and attended the Sprague Freewill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Mose Howlett, on Aug 15 1988, and three brothers, Owen, Okey and George Hornsby.

Survivors include three sons, Dewey Howlett of Sprague, William Howlett of Sand Branch and Franklin Howlett of Fireco, three daughters, Mildred Keffer of Fireco, Hilda Bolen of Odd and Argina Ayers of Coal City, a brother Virgil Hornsby of Chicago, Ill, 26 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley with the Revs. Charlie Daniels and Fred Lovell officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley.

Friends may call Sunday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers
