BRITTAIN CARTER IS FOUND DEAD AT THIS HOME
Brittain H. Carter, 59, owner of the Carter Cabins, a housing project in the northern part of the city, was found dead in his home Friday. Death, which authorities said was from natural causes, ad apparently occurred the night before.
Born in Tayne, Ala., June 3, 1896, Mr Carter came to Montana when a young man and saw service with the Army during World War I. Following his discharge he returned to Beaverhead county, until recent years working on ranches in the area.
He bought a tract of land on the northern outskirts of Dillon and erected a number of cabins which he rented. He was a member of Beaverhead Post of the American Legion.
Surviving relatives include two brothers, one sister and number of nieces and nephews in Georgia. He was never married.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2pm from Brundage Chapel with Legion services.
