JOHN HAROLD KUNKEL, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Kunkel, died in New York city yesterday of typhoid fever. He has been ill for about three weeks and made a hard fight for his life.

He was born in Frederick October 12, 1878 and lived for some years in Baltimore on Monument street. He was educated at the Episcopal High school at Alexandria, Va. Afterwards moved to New York, where he entered the brokerage business in the firm of Halstead and Hagameyer, from there he accepted a position with Eyler & Company, and only a few months ago associated himself with the firm of H.B. Hollins & Co., one of the largest and most influential banking houses in Wall street.

Mr. Kunkel lived in bachelor apartments at 30 West 58th street. He was a popular and genial young man with a host of friends who will greatly miss him.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Charles Worthington Ross, Jr., of Frederick; and Mrs. John Francis Daniell, of New York.

The funeral will take place tomorrow at 2 o'clock from the residence of his sister, Mrs. Charles W. Ross, Jr.
