Miss MARY CATHERINE KUNKEL, last surviving member of her immediate family, and daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Baker Kunkel, of Frederick, died at the residence of Mrs. Laura R. Schmidt, East Second street, Tuesday. Miss Kunkel, who had for some years been an invalid, was aged 96 years and five months. General debility was given as the cause of dath.

She attended school at St. Joseph's, Emmitsburg, and later both she and her sister, Miss Amelia Frances, lived at the Schmidt residence until the death of the sister several years ago. She was a life long and devoted member of the Evangelical Reformed church and was much loved.

She is survived by the following relatives: nieces and nephews -- Mrs. Steiner Schley, this city; Mrs. J.K. Wilson, Baltimore; William P. Kunkel, Lebanon, Pa.; Charles E. Kunkel, Ca.; and Mrs. Emma Barkee, Baltimore; grand-nieces and nephew -- Mrs. Charles W. Ross, Jr., Miss Lillian K. Schley, Mrs. Isabel Kunkel-Daniels, and William L. Harley, all of this city.

Funeral services were held at the late home; interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery; Thomas P. Rice was the funeral director.
