Leander J. (Shammy) Scharenbroch, 72, of 858 Linden St., Cleveland, died Monday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
He was born Oct. 8, 1912, in Cleveland, a son of the late peter and Theresa Jackel Scharenbroch.
On June 3, 1941, he married Harriet Zych at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Northeim.
Mr. Scharenbroch was employed at R. P. Jost Co., Cleveland, worked for R. P. Honold Plumbing Co., and was chief engineer for 17 years at St. Nicholas Hospital until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Wendel Catholic Church, Cleveland, and the Southeastern Wisconsin Hospital Engineers Association.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Joyce) Dhein of Cedarburg, and Mrs. Jim (Monica) Sims of Green Bay; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Beatrice Steinbruecker of Sheboygan. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Wendel Catholic Church. The Rev. Bernard Geimer, pastor, will be celebrant of the Mass, which will be preceded by family rites at 9:45 a.m. at Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Burial will be in St. Casimir Cemetery, Northeim.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. A prayer service will be held there at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
