Donna Jean Sheaffer, 75, of Lewistown died at 2:14 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born Nov. 9, 1940 in Lewistown she was a daughter of the late John E. Shawver and Isabelle G. (Rager) Hockenbrock, who died Oct. 19, 2012, and step-father, Lester H. Hockenbrock, who died May 20, 1990.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tara Jo Sheaffer.
She is survived by: her husband, Joseph Sheaffer, whom she married Sept. 17, 1960; her children, Joseph Sheaffer, Jr. and wife, Lori, Dan E. Sheaffer and Kimbra Jo Sheaffer-Packard and husband, Dale, all of Lewistown; brother, Robert Hockenbrock, of Alfarata; five grandchildren, Hunter and Trevor Packard, Naithan, Alonnah and Josh Sheaffer; and one great-grandchild, Norah Sheaffer.
Donna had worked as a seamstress at Arrow Shirt Factory and later, at Scotty’s until her retirement.
She was a lifetime member of City Hook & Ladder and an auxiliary member. Donna enjoyed bowling, crafts and loved watching birds out her window.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30 at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown with Rev. Debra Ernst officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Weds. at the funeral home.
Interment will take place in Union Memorial Gardens, Mifflintown, at a later date.
