Death came to Josef Matovetz, pioneer resident of the county, just three weeks to the day after the Grim Destroyer had claimed his wife, companion of half a century, the funeral of Mr. Matejovetz being held Saturday at Reifs Mills.
Mrs. Matejovetz died three weeks ago last Thursday, and the shock prostrated the aged husband, whose decline was rapid until death came to him Thursday last. Both Mr. Matejovetz and his wife were 83 years of age and, for years, made their home in the town of Kossuth. Mr. Matejovetz, at the time of his last illness, made his home with his daughter, Mrs. John Peterik, in this city. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Peterik, Mrs. John Cizek, and Mrs. Wm. Kukel.
