Josephine Lauretta Utterback Hayes, 81 of Warrenton, VA died on October 13, 2012 at Fauquier Hospital. She was born on November 13, 1930 in Warrenton a daughter of the late James Porter Utterback and Cora Lee Kendall Utterback. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Charles Hayes; her son Lloyd C. "Buddy" Hayes; her sisters- Rena C. Jacobs, Isadora V. Robinson, Fannie L. Hayes; her brothers- James F. Utterback, Sr. and Robert R. Utterback; and two grandsons- R. Joseph Talomie, II and Daniel Charles Talomie. Mrs. Hayes worked as a crossing guard for Fairfax County at Oakton Elementary School and then worked as the office manager for Ted Britt Ford in Fairfax until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of the Warrenton Baptist Church where she was an active member attending Sunday School and serving on the Refreshments Committee. She is survived by her daughter- Barbara Crierie of Warrenton; two grandsons- Michael and Jon Talomie both of Warrenton; and five great grandchildren- Peyton M. Talomie, J. Hayes Talomie, B. Lane Talomie, Charlee C. Talomie and Aliza K. Talomie and her sister, Pearly L. Warner. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Thursday at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton where funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct 19 at 2:00 PM. Interment in Warrenton Cemetery.
