Harold F. 'Tiny' Shimek

Harold F. "Tiny" Shimek, age 67, of 1014 N. 20th St., Manitowoc, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 22, 2006, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 916 Pine St., Manitowoc, with the Rev. Paul Schossow officiating, with burial to follow in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, town of Gibson.

Tiny was born July 6, 1938, in the town of Gibson, to the late Louis and Verna Schmidt Shimek, and has been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of the Mishicot High School, class of 1956.

He was formerly employed by the Mirro Manufacturing Co., and then worked for the WI Aluminum Foundry for many years, retiring in 2000. Mr. Shimek was a long time member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, town of Gibson, where he was confirmed on April 15, 1951. He has been an active member of Immanuel Evangelical Church in Manitowoc for several years, where he enjoyed attending the Bible Class studies. He was also active in supporting the Manitowoc Lutheran High School through the Repeat Performance Resale Shop. Tiny enjoyed reading many books, and watching many videos and movies on his TV.

Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law: Robert and Rita Shimek, of Mishicot, Dale "Poncho" and Nancy Shimek, of LaCrosse; his step-mother: Caroline Shimek, of Two Rivers; brother-in-law: George (Delilah) Remiker, of Manitowoc; an aunt: Agnes Schmidt, of Mishicot; his nieces and nephews: Richard, Timothy, Sandy, Chuck and Jay Remiker, Michelle and Rachel Shimek, Chad Shimek and Dawn Krueger.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister: Elaine Shimek Remiker; one uncle: Roland Schmidt; and one nephew: Scott Remiker.

Relatives and friends may call after 9 a.m. on Tuesday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, until time of service at 11 a.m. There will be no Monday evening visitation.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.

The Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home of Mishicot, is assisting the Shimek family with funeral arrangements.
