Joan Ann Storms was a beautiful little girl who died less than one week after her sixth birthday after being struck by a car.

Raymond Weed (the crossing guard who saved two other children that day) died in May, 1974 at the age of 72. His wife, Marion, died on February 15, 1999 at the age of 96. I'm sure that the events of September 14, 1966 haunted them for the rest of their lives.
The Brown Street School, where Little Joan was a first grader, is now a Police Athletic League Center.
